4:30~
M wakes up and comes into bed with us. Fidgets. Fidgets. Says she has to pee. Once there needs to be escorted back because Halloween time means my kids are nervous wrecks for a month or so. Once back, announces she's hungry. I announce right back that I will care once the sun has risen and that she should go to sleep.
6:58~
M wakes up and informs us that it's "six - two or five - eight" according to the digital clock.
7:01~
I finally roll over and see that, sure enough, it is 7am.
7:10~
Make Trader Joe's banana waffles for the kids, coffee for me. Alex is leaving early this morning.
I have been off all week so I decide to sit here and veg this morning while sucking down my coffee in the hopes that I can be super productive the rest of the day.
8:00~
I decide to come here so that I have some pressure on me to be an amazing mom and educator today. ;)
8:15~
I finally get off my rear end and get to work.
Kids are playing with marbles and a wooden track system for them to run in.
10:30~
I've cleaned the kitchen, visited a rabbit petting zoo in M's room, made beds, made banana bread (did not offer M to help... sometimes I just like to bake alone, dammit), had a snack (egg burrito), fed the kids a snack (raisins and peanuts), and unloaded the dishwasher and loaded it right back up.
*whew*
After they are done eating we're gonna bundle up and head out in the RAIN. (And by "rain" I mean "vague drizzle")
11:10~
The kids had a blast in the rain. I thought E might not like it and might cling to me the whole time, but he was excited to splash, too. When we came in he announced, "All done, rain."
Now the natives are starting to turn on me. Speaking rudely from the elder one and flat-out screaming by the younger. My ear is going to buzz all day now.
11:38~
Finally got M fixed up with worksheets - one time-telling one and two draw-then-write ones. E is head-butting me for some reason. Maybe I can convince him to do some worksheets, too?
12:15~
They are eating their lunch now - peanut butter & pumpkin butter sandwiches on fresh banana bread. Then it's naptime!
1pm~
They are both down. Hopefully they both sleep.
I am so grumpy today and keep snapping at the kids. :(
3:00~
Kids are awake and M and I made sticker pictures together while E watched Blue's Clues. Now they are set up with a snack while I attempt to make some phone calls. Camp Fire was canceled today due to the rain.
4:00~
Being on the phone turns my ordinary children into crazed, loud beings who follow me around the house conga-style shouting "BUNNY!" so loudly they can actually hear us all the way to Anaheim. Still, I got some things done.
4:21~
After much persuasion, I got both kids to work quietly while I check off some things from my to do list. Once that stops working, I plan to have M read to me, and I have a cool story game we can play about farms since we plan to visit one tomorrow.
4:45~
Earlier M was dropping beads onto E's head . Siblings. You know.
I guess this became a game. I hear this:
E: Reh-tee? (ready)
M: No, not yet.
E: Reh-tee?
M: OK, yes.
E: Oh-tee (ok)
(and here M & I both think E is going to drop them on her head)
(but he doesn't)
(he drops them on his own head) (!!!lol!!!)
E: Reh-tee?
M: Yes!
E: Oh-tee!
(drops them on his own head again)
(and repeat)
5:15~
Try to have M read to me, but I'm interrupted by an important phone call during which she acted up on purpose just to... I don't know. What, exactly, is the purpose of angering your mom? Whatever it is, that's why she did it.
6:00~
After much complaining and promises that she was starving TO DEATH, the kids are both fed. Enough.
I tried today. I tried. I give up. I'm gonna go bury my head in Harry Potter now. See you tomorrow (hopefully!) with awesome pictures from the farm!!
