Painted Ladies

A few days ago we received our painted ladies in the mail. (And by "we" I mean "Margie." I swear. No, really.) They just about doubled in size in the first day we had them (ahem. I mean the first day Margie had them). They continued eating the lab food they came with and then moved on to the special circle under the lid which I was supposed to take out and pin inside the garden once they were all pupas. So now I'm not sure what, exactly, I will do.

But in the mean time let me share some photos with you. Sorry for the poor quality, it wasn't easy to see these guys. As you can see in the first photo (you know, if you CAN see) only one has formed a chrysalis at this point. A mere two or three hours later the rest of them were all done as well, as evidenced in the second photo. I was really busy this afternoon, but now I regret not just sitting there watching them. Oh well. Next time I will.

Now to figure out how to transplant these guys into their next home.
