~Today is Elliott's IEP at the elementary school. Wish us luck!
WOW. What a day. It was so nuts that I am not updating until late Friday night.
~E's IEP went very well. He will be attending speech with one other child two days a week for 25 minutes starting in July.
~We went home for lunch.
~They were fixing our electricity so we were told to be gone from about 12 or 1pm to 3. So we left and went to our usual homeschool Park Day, and stayed for two full hours. As we were leaving, M slipped on some loose gravel and twisted her ankle good. She was able to walk to the car and around Trader Joe's but I cut our shipping trip short there.
~We arrived home at 4:30 only to see they were nowhere near finished in our apartment. *sigh* They estimated at another hour and a half and when they started drilling and E started freaking out I ushered the kids back into the van and we left to find some dinner.
~Two full hours later - after a long dinner at Denny's - we went back home only to find them STILL NOT DONE. I lost it. It was almost the kids' bedtime, Elliott was freaking out over the drilling sounds, M was freaking out over her ankle, my house was dark and loud and we were supposed to go to Legoland the next day. I sat in the van and cried on the phone to Alex - simply at the end of my rope.
~Suddenly they were done. Of course they came and found me crying in my van, but at least we got to go HOME and go to SLEEP. We waited a few more minutes while they vacuumed up the mess (Elliott said, "It's scary. My house.") and then went inside.
So I'm not sure what was schooly about all that, but do I care? Not much. I survived the day and that, I think, is a success.
