Not Much

We haven't done anything much "schooly" lately, or even anything unusually educational. In fact, for two weeks, the girl has been sick so we've mainly just watched a lot of TV.

We did get out last week, before the second illness hit, and went to the Cinco de Mayo street fair our town has. M got to ride a llama there (you can see her looking less-than-thrilled, it was later that night that her fever hit).

Other than that, we've had lots of car-conversations. Because of her fever, we had to take a surprise trip out to the doc's office in Ramona which is 53 minutes from my house and in the middle of nowhere. We saw a few horses and I explained that the metal grates in the road are for catching cows. At least, that's what I was told they are for. *shrug*

This weekend, once she was well, and we were preparing for the kids' birthday party, we had a little lesson in colors as I was adding food coloring to the icing to make pink and blue cupcakes. I mixed the leftover icing and we discovered what happens when you mix blue and pink (an ugly grayish purple, for those taking notes).

Today we rejoin our regularly scheduled... schedule... and hit storytime this morning and music class this afternooon. I happened upon a CD copy of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe which we began listening to in the car.
