I was just about to say we haven't done much recently, but that's just not true. Last Friday we took a "field trip" to the Cabrillo National Monument to see the lighthouse there, we've had a marshmallow roast, we've been to a "Mad Science" show and a magic show at the library, we've seen two free movies, so far we've read 25 books per kid for the summer reading program at the library, we saw fireworks for Independance Day, we've been swimming in the backyard pool, we've been to a park to run in the sprinklers, we've been to the farmer's market nearly weekly, tonight we are meeting our Camp Fire friends at the zoo, and we've learned about casts and xrays when baby E broke his arm. So, uh, guess we've been busy after all. I must remember to update more often.
A couple weeks ago we hit the educational supply store to get some paints and while there I invested a whopping $2 for this calendar and another $2 for the date cards. Each day M puts a new date on the calendar. Even though we've only done six days I really think she's getting a better understanding of days and weeks. After we've done this a few months I'd like to expand by tracking the weather, holidays, birthdays and other fun stuff.
Clicking on the picture will take you to my photostream at Flickr and you can check out our photos there.
Oh, and Monday begins M's summer classes: ballet and sports. At the end of the summer we will all take swimming classes together!
