~E and Alex played with the Marbleworks set.
~M & Alex watched videos on YouTube. Is that educational?
~I'm off to work. Be back in a couple hours. We're aiming to go to a May Fair today. Wish us luck!
~~
~We ended up attending the Waldorf School's May Faire. It was, as usual, magical. We arrived too late for the May Pole Dance this year, but we had a ton of fun at the other activities. Margie caught butterflies, hunted for treasure, made a bird feeder, played ring toss, made a butterfly wand, and got gifts from Lady Spring and the Pocket Lady. (Pictures here) Elliott climbed stairs, dug holes, and found rocks. We didn't do anything in our home for Beltane so it's nice to have this celebration all done for us.
We passed up a trip to the local Stein Family Farm this time, but I feel really badly about it. We visited it recently with our homeschool field trip group, SaDLE, and I fell right in love with it. Someday when I have more time (HA) and less small children, I plan to become a volunteer there.
When we got home we:
~Checked on our bean plants and discussed them (long roots, strong stems).
~Observed a moth and let it walk on our fingers.
~Hung up the bird feeder in the tree.
~Alex and the kids watched some dominos videos on YouTube.
~The kids played outside with Grandma for awhile.
~After dinner Alex and Elliott looked at Look & Find books.
~Margie and I went online looking at birds. We discussed vertabrates, extinction, timelines, the "pt" letter combination, flightless birds, bird anatomy, eggs, the Dodo, and I can't even remember what else.
~Then we talked a little about the May Pole dance, ren faires and the SCA.
