Thursday

~Margie played on Webkinz.
~Elliott colored with dad.
~M practiced her speech all on ger own and then later demonstrated for me how well she can "sh!"
~After breakfast, the kids played on their own for a bit - Margie with her sponge animals and Elliott colored some more.
~A brief trip outside as I watered - they dug in the dirt.
~M sat down and watched a bit of HGTV that had been left on.
~I sat M down with a brown paper bag and some crayons and told her to color every inch. She did about 80% and says she will finish the rest later.
~The kids played actively together.
~M and I watched a National Geographic short video podcast about a hero dolphin who saves a mama pygmy sperm whale and her baby in New Zealand.
~M took a bath, Elliott washed her *snicker*
~Our Sigg bottles are here! Our Sigg bottles are here!
~Park day! We hung out for about an hour and a half total, including a walk up the hill to the small playground at the East end of the park.
~On the way to the park, we listened to two short Storynory podcasts - one story and one that included two poems.
~We had a few errands to run, among them was the post office. Margie had to mail her friend's Flat Stanley back to Minnesota. I showed her (as best as I could while trying to keep a squirming almost-three-year-old imp under control) how to weight envelopes, buy stamps from the machine, and, of course, the most exciting part of a trip to the post office - the dollar coins you get as change. She has two loose teeth just waiting for some of these babies to make their way under her pillow.
~Once we got home, we had the best intentions to let her help with dinner, but instead she and her brother tried to find new and creative ways to terrorize each other which made me want nothing more than to make dinner by.my.self. I will make it up to her by letting her make cookies tomorrow.
~Kids ate dinner and then went to bed.
~Alex read the little book Tickle's Tale to Margie at bedtime. I don't think I've included their bedtime routines in here, but daily it's something relating to language arts - reading or writing.
